NaNoWriMo 2016 Finale

Hello Folks!  Late last night came a miraculous point.  I finished my novel for National Novel Writing Month 2016.  I finished with just over 50,000 words.

NaNoWriMo 2016 Winner's Certificate

This time around I feel like I have come to a solid ending for Shao Island.  I also feel that the story has a much more concrete plot.  That doesn’t mean it is over yet.  NaNoWriMo 2016 also comes with the option to make a revision pledge.  As soon as this is available I plan to do so.

I have ordered from FedEx store two bound copies of Shao Island.  I will keep one copy, unmarked to have as a reminder of NaNoWriMo 2016.  The other copy will be used to make edits and further revise my novel.

Lastly, I want to thank NaNoWriMo for hosting such a great event.  Every year I look forward to November because it is the one month that I feel forced to write in.  It is also an inspiring month.  I feel like it helps me be creative and let loose on the page.

Stay tuned because I have more posts coming about NaNoWriMo 2016.  These will include a spotlight on Novlr.org, the service I used to write this year’s novel, a review of the quality of the FedEx prints, revision updates, and more details about Shao Island.  I have been told that people really liked the original constant updates with samples from the original Shao Island and will do something similar as the days go on.

NaNoWriMo Day 21 Update

The Twins

Hello everyone!  Starting behind I was sure I was going to be behind until the end of the month.  So far since I have caught up I have been behind only once, and then only by less than a thousand words.  I am happy to say that the novel is coming along well.  Unlike past iterations of Shao Island, I have a concrete grasp of where the book will go.

Word Count: 35,166 Words

I have decided to give to you the whole first chapter, unedited.  This way you can get a feel for where the story starts.  You may recognize the beginning of the chapter from an earlier post.  Stay tuned as I may provide more content from the novel.

Keep Reading to read the first chapter of Shao Island.
